no crashes or glitches of any kind).Ĭlick to expand.I created the game folder and added the Steam_AppID.txt file BEFORE I even started installing the game and I was able to play it for hour after it unlocked with Hotspot Shield Free. I'm currently validating the cache although it is a bit concerned that the game has suddenly stopped working when it was running perfectly before (i.e. I can Alt-F4 out of the game but otherwise nothing happens. Not only that but I can't even start a New Game now either - the spinning logo thing on the loading screen rotates for a few seconds then stops.

So I Alt-F4ed out of the game and loaded it again to find that I cannot Continue or Load my saves (I made two manual ones) or the autosave. A Game Over prompt came up and when I pressed A to resume the game all I got was a black screen. I took whatever it was to the restaurant and got into a fight which I lost. Unfortunately, I seem to have hit an impasse at the vendor task afterwards. The neon lighting and wet surfaces also gave it a distinct look.
I played the first mission where you had to extort money from the market traders and was impressed at how busy and alive the game felt. Visually the game is stunning IMO and seems very well optimized (Extreme AA aside). It offers noticeably better image quality than Normal AA IMO so I can live with not having a perfect 60 fps for now. The game plays absolutely fine with High AA though at 50-60 fps during the game and 45-60 fps during cutscenes. With Extreme AA the game performance is poor at just above 30 fps on average. These are all at Extreme settings at 1920x1200 with v-sync off and anti-aliasing set to:
As such I cannot post the benchmark screenshots but, fortunately, the game saves the results as XML files.
Even FRAPS (v3.5.6) shows black screens except, weirdly, for the odd screenshot (how does that work?). I did take screenshots using Afterburner but they all turned out as black screens. Finally unlocked the game yesterday using Hot Spot Shield Free and ran the benchmarks with Extreme settings, albeit with v-sync off and Anti-aliasing set to Normal, High and Extreme.
